Shockers Clip Crossbeaus, 1-0
|
In a tight tilt between the Surprise Shockers and the Beaumont Crossbeaus, Joseph O'Rourke was the deciding factor. The Surprise right-hander spearheaded the 1-0 win. The winner was Bruce Williams in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Earl DeGraw took the loss. The Shockers are now 16-10.
Calvin Brown had a chance to be a hero in the top of the ninth inning. With Beaumont trailing 1-0, Beaumont had the bases empty. But Brown grounded out.
