Surprise Absorbs 2-0 Loss to Beaumont

The Beaumont Crossbeaus and Surprise Shockers put on a pitchers' duel.
The Beaumont Crossbeaus claimed a close win over the Surprise Shockers, due in large part to Gabriel Pérez. The Beaumont right-hander pitched a great game to secure the 2-0 win. Pérez yielded no runs over 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 1, and struck out 6. His record improves to 3-2.
Beaumont shortstop Jed Dye delivered a solo home run in the top of the seventh. Overall, he went 3 for 4, picking up 1 home run, 1 single, and 1 double. He scored 1 run and knocked in 1.
"Gabriel made some good pitches in some situations he needed to make them in," said Beaumont manager Dan Fletcher.
The Crossbeaus now own a record of 13-14.
