Sea Dogs Need Extra Frames to Get Past Crossbeaus
The Maine Sea Dogs faced a tough opponent in Beaumont pitcher José Mojica, but still scratched out a win at The Target by a final score of 9-4 in 10 innings. Mojica went 6.2 innings and allowed 1 run. Maine reliever Sam Sullivan was credited with the win. His record goes to 1-1. Andrés Pérez took the loss for Beaumont. The 6th-place Crossbeaus dropped to 14-15.

Maine used a timely hit from Danny Courthope to get the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Sea Dogs ahead, 6-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.

"Sometimes winning takes more than 27 outs," said Sea Dogs manager Pedro Hernández.
