The Hicksville Hounds faced a tough opponent in Ladue pitcher Ernesto Chávez, but found a way to pull out the victory at Ballpark of Wellsville by a final score of 5-3 in 10 innings. Chávez went 9 innings and allowed 2 runs. Ryuichi Agano, 1-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 3 innings. Hicksville is now 19-11. Ladue is 11-19.
Albert Leach found himself in a pressure situation in the top of the tenth. Facing Ladue hurler Rafael Gómez, the 20-year-old first baseman grounded out, driving in 1 run. His 13th RBI of the season put the Hounds on top, 3-2.
