In a low-scoring tilt between the Ladue Rams and the Surprise Shockers, Ernesto Chávez, who is tied for 2nd in the SA- in wins with 4, was the difference-maker. The Ladue left-hander spearheaded the 3-1 win. The 7th-place Rams have a record of 16-20.

The Shockers had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Rams going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 19-year old shortstop Seung-hak Sin came to the plate. Sin hit a 2-run home run on a 2-1 fastball from Surprise hurler José Gonzáles. It was Sin's 2nd home run of the year.
