Starting pitcher Willis Thomas pitched well enough to help the Philadelphia Liberty U-21 beat the Memphis Music, 4-3. The save went to Robbie de Groot, his 15th this season. The Liberty U-21 boast a remarkable 33-8 record.

The Liberty U-21 got an important contribution from right fielder Shannon Fowler, who in the top of the fourth hit a fastball to right for a solo home run. It was his 10th home run of the season and put the Liberty U-21 ahead, 4-2.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Fowler. "And not try to do too much."
