Baby Lakers Handed 6-1 Loss
|
The Ogallala Octopi downed the Bompton Baby Lakers, 6-1, at Field of the Browns. Stellar pitching by Pat Edmonds had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who is tied for 7th in the SA- with a 1.91 ERA, handcuffed his opponent all game. Edmonds, now 3-3, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 2, walking 2, and allowing no runs. With the win over Bompton, the Octopi improved to 25-19.
Paul McBride was a prime factor in the win for the Octopi. In the top of the second with two out, the 20-year old shortstop hit a 2-run single. He was 2 for 5 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI.
"I was just taking it batter by batter, just enjoying the moment," said Edmonds.
