Shockers Knock Off Hounds at Shockers Field

The Surprise Shockers dealt the Hicksville Hounds a loss at Shockers Field. The final score was 6-5. Jorge Alemán was especially productive for Surprise. In addition to his 1 single and 1 triple, he scored 1 run and drove in 2. Surprise pitcher Yuan-zhang Jiao earned the win, hiking his record to 2-1. Alex Burgess suffered the loss. With the win, Surprise goes to 26-19, while the Hounds fall to 30-15.
There was more than one reason the Shockers beat the Hounds, but Alemán's big at-bat in the bottom of the first was an important factor. He staked his team to a 1-0 lead when he hit a run-scoring single.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Surprise manager José Montalópez.
