Ueno Hits Two Homers in 9-4 Win for Amarillo
|
With third baseman Atsushi Ueno leading the charge, the Amarillo Warheads defeated the Hicksville Hounds, 9-4, at Ballpark of Henderson. Ueno, who is tied for 6th in the SA- in triples with 2, slugged 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 3. The winner was Amarillo reliever Rodrigo Morán, now 1-0. The loser was Todd Rivera. Earning his 1st save of the year was Alex Martin.
Hunter Ayers, the Amarillo first baseman, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth inning to make the score 4-3, Warheads. For the game, Ayers was 2 for 5 with a double.
"I feel honored to be a part of this team," said Ayers.
The second-place Warheads have a record of 27-19.
