Rams Win Nail-Biter in 10

The Rams earned a hard-fought, 4-3 win in 10 innings at Ballpark of Henderson. To do so required withstanding a fine effort from Amarillo pitcher Bob Smith. Smith went 8 innings and allowed 3 runs. The save went to Tim Ashe, number 5 for him. With this game in the books, Ladue is 23-28, Amarillo 30-21.
Víctor Calderón found himself in a pressure situation in the top of the tenth. Facing Amarillo hurler Ken Leach, the 18-year-old catcher hit a sacrifice fly. His 5th RBI of the season put the Rams on top, 4-3.
"Always feels extra good winning this kind of game," said Calderón.
