McAndrew goes 3-for-5, Liberty U-21 Move to 48-16
|
Behind a fine performance from Campbell McAndrew, the Philadelphia Liberty U-21 knocked off the Amarillo Warheads, 7-1. McAndrew was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once for the Liberty U-21. Philadelphia pitcher Carl Salter got the win, upping his record to 2-0. Pepe García got the loss. Philadelphia goes to 48-16. The win puts them 6½ games up in their division.
With Philadelphia leading 3-0 in the bottom of the seventh, McAndrew hit a fastball from Frédéric Lépine for a 3-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Liberty U-21 ahead, 6-0.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," McAndrew said after the game.
