Rams Turn Back Amarillo, 5-3
|
Ballpark of Wellsville was the site of a competitive game between the Amarillo Warheads and Ladue Rams.
Ladue beat Amarillo on the strength of starting pitcher Duncan Holloway's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-3. Holloway, now 3-7, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. Tim Ashe locked down his 8th save.
Frank Reynolds, who is tied for 10th in the SA- with a .359 on-base percentage, contributed to the Ladue win with a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the second baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 1 run batted in.
"Nice to tuck this win away," said Reynolds.
The 8th-place Rams improved to 27-37.
