Angel Kitties Topple Shockers, 3-2

The Bethlehem Angel Kitties and Surprise Shockers played an entertaining game for Kittie Park patrons.
In a low-scoring contest between the Bethlehem Angel Kitties and the Surprise Shockers, 21-year old left-handed pitcher Nico van Halteren proved to be the difference. The Bethlehem left-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-2 Angel Kitties win. van Halteren, now 4-6, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. John Reed recorded the save, his 15th.
Tony García had a critical at-bat with two out in the bottom of the seventh for Bethlehem. He came through with a run-scoring single to put Bethlehem in front, 3-1.
In postgame remarks, García hailed his team's "grit."
With this game in the books, Bethlehem is 27-39, Surprise 36-30.
