Angel Kitties Rally to Eke Out Win
|
Shockers Field was the site of a remarkable pitchers' duel.
The Bethlehem Angel Kitties picked up a win at Shockers Field, dropping the Surprise Shockers, 2-1, in 10 innings. Darren Marquis, who is tied for 6th in the SA- in quality starts with 9, was the difference-maker. Dou-guan Li sewed up the save, his 1st.
David Houston's at-bat with one out in the top of the tenth was critical. The Bethlehem second baseman hit a sacrifice fly, to put his team on top, 2-1. Runs were at a premium and this one was huge.
"To become 'battle-tested,'" said Marquis, "you need to compete in this kind of contest."
With the victory, the Angel Kitties record stands at 23-43.
