Canucks Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Rams, 4-2
|
The Moose Jaw Canucks had to overcome a fine effort from Ladue pitcher Joe Weber to win, 4-2, at Ballpark of Wellsville. Weber went 6.2 innings and allowed 2 runs. The win belonged to Nobuyoki Nii in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Ronnie Palmer took the loss for Ladue. "Lousy" describes the Ladue performance in the early going.
Moose Jaw used the timely hitting of Noel Langdon to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Canucks on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
After the game, Moose Jaw manager Ismael Barrios applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
