Ellesmere Island Loses Again, 6-5
The Greenport Harbor Whales and Ellesmere Island Snowpeople obliged fans hoping for an exciting game.

The Greenport Harbor Whales withstood a fine game by Ellesmere Island shortstop Adri Olthuis at Ballpark of Robbins, to upend the Snowpeople, 6-5. Olthuis went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Greenport pitcher Steve Moore got the win, upping his record to 1-1. Manny Galván got the loss. Miguel Ortíz nailed down the save.

Bruno Reardon helped out the Greenport cause in the bottom of the third inning with a run-scoring ground out. For the game, the designated hitter drew 1 walk in 4 plate appearances.

"This game will humble you at times and you've got to buck up and deal with it," said Ellesmere Island manager Gary MacHardy.

The losses continue to mount for Ellesmere Island, which has now dropped 7 in a row.
