The Flint Crush got a good effort from starter Igor Plomp in defeating the Greenport Harbor Whales at Ballpark of Robbins. The final score was 3-0. Plomp got the win, improving to 5-1. He gave up 5 hits and walked 2 over 7 innings. He allowed no runs. Ken Leach recorded the save, his 9th.
Flint used the timely hitting of Steve Everett to capture the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Crush on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.
Everett called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
The second-place Crush have won 6 straight.
