North Ft. Myers Claims 5-0 Victory
|
Art Lamplighter, who is tied for 7th in the 3A- in quality starts with 4, never let the Rams get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Gators to a win, 5-0. Lamplighter, now 2-3, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 6, walking 6, and allowing no runs. Picking up the save was 20-year old right-handed pitcher Adam Fossnes.
Randy Sullivan dealt the Rams a blow in the bottom of the second. Batting with runners on 2nd and 3rd and North Ft. Myers leading 2-0, Sullivan hit a 2-1 fastball for a 2-run single.
"I'm a bit of a clubhouse prankster," said Lamplighter. "But it's all business when we're on the field."
North Ft. Myers's record now stands at 12-15, placing them 8th in the Menard's Low A.
