António Espinosa was instrumental in his team's 7-5 triumph over the Long Island Ducks. The second baseman was 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Napanee Express. Napanee reliever Rostislav Komrskov was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was James Harrell. Scott Bates collected save number 5.
Espinosa had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 0-1 slider from James Harrell, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Express a 7-5 lead. It was the 9th home run of the year for Espinosa.
"I like to lead by example," said Espinosa. "I'm glad I could contribute to a good win."
The 4th-place Express go to 18-15.
