Baby Blues Top Gators to Even Record
|
Right-hander Randy Bender mesmerized the North Ft. Myers Gators while leading the Quebec City Baby Blues to a 6-0 victory. Bender, now 5-1, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing no runs. At 18-18, the Baby Blues find themselves in 7th place in the Menard's Low A.
Quebec City used a clutch at-bat from Yoshimi Sato to capture the win. The third baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Baby Blues ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"Randy did what Randy does," said Quebec City manager Mauro Rangel.
