Snowpeople Rally Late to Clip Greenport
|
Ellesmere Island picked up a win at The Igloo, bumping off the Greenport Harbor Whales, 2-1. Pitcher Manny Galván was a major reason the Snowpeople emerged victorious. The victory puts Ellesmere Island at 15-22.
Ellesmere Island took a 1-0 lead on Andrés Vega's 2nd triple of the season. The run-scoring triple, which Vega hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Greenport pitcher Luis Tirado visibly frustrated.
"Tough loss," said Greenport manager Mike Brown. "This one will sting for a while."
