The Long Island Ducks were defeated, 1-0, by the Flint Crush at Flint Park, even though Arthur Hennessey pitched well for Long Island. Flint pitcher Sergio Torres got the win. He's now 1-0. Arthur Hennessey was tagged with the loss. Picking up the save was Greg Bradford, his 14th.
Ángel Valdéz went 1-2 with a walk for Flint. The 20-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the second. With one out and a runner on 3rd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Arthur Hennessey. It was his 9th RBI of the season.
"We just didn't score enough runs to win," said Long Island manager Cody Blackburn.
With the win, Flint raised its record to 29-17.
