|
In the 5-4 Greenport win over Napanee, the impact of Jong-your Chu was substantial. Chu, who is tied for 4th in the 3A- in RBI with 33, went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Rafael Fernández claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 5 hits in 3 innings. His record stands at 1-3. At 23-24, the Harbor Whales are currently 7th in the Menard's Low A.
The decisive at-bat for Greenport came with no one out in the bottom of the eighth. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, Chu hit a 3-run home run for the walk-off win.
