The Long Island Ducks beat the Maine Sea Dogs, 5-4, at Ducks Park. The win was due in part to center fielder John Pierpoint Morgan, who was 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. After today's action, Long Island sits at 29-18; Maine slips to 32-15.

With Long Island leading 1-0 in the bottom of the third, Morgan came up to bat against Maine pitcher Calvin Burkett. Morgan hit a fastball to right for a 2-run home run. His 7th home run of the season put the Ducks on top, 3-0.

"When I'm in the lineup, I always feel like we're going to win the game," said Morgan.
