Memphis Wins, 3-2, Over Interns
|
Memphis beat Capital Hill at The Stage in Memphis, escaping with a 3-2 win. The win in large part was due to designated hitter Herman Crowder. He threw 8.0 innings of 3-hit ball. Memphis pitcher Dave McIntyre got the win, upping his record to 2-4. Gerardo González got the loss. Memphis, at 29-22, holds down 5th place in the Menard's Low A.
Up to bat in the bottom of the ninth, 19-year old second baseman Kieran Neighbour had a chance to be the hero. Capital Hill pitcher Gerardo González wanted to foil that plan. But with two outs, Neighbour drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The Music had themselves a thrilling win.
"We found a way to get it done," Crowder said.
