Ducks Get Clutch Win Versus Napanee
The Long Island Ducks had to overcome a big game from Napanee shortstop John Sullivan to leave Ducks Park with a victory. And they did, winning, 4-3. Sullivan went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2. Long Island reliever Tim Manning picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. Scott Bates took the loss. The second-place Ducks have won 6 consecutive games.

The decisive blow was delivered by Francis Cowan in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a run-scoring double off 20-year old left-handed pitcher Scott Bates to win the game for Long Island. The home crowd went nuts.

"The crowd was boisterous tonight," said Cowan.
