Loss Diminishes Fine Performance by Joseph
Maine took on Capital Hill in front of a lively crowd.

The Capital Hill Interns got a superb performance from right fielder Bobby Joseph, but the Maine Sea Dogs still won the game, 9-7. Joseph was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Maine pitcher Jeff Robinson earned the win, hiking his record to 2-4. Pedro Puglisi suffered the loss. Picking up the save was 19-year old right-handed pitcher Sergio García.

Maine used a timely hit from Jelle Michielsen to get the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Sea Dogs ahead, 8-7. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.

"Nice win for us," said Michielsen. "Now we'll go after the next one."

The win gives Maine a season record of 36-19.
