Rams Squelch Ducks Offense in Shutout Win
|
The Ladue Rams downed the Long Island Ducks, 6-0, at Ducks Park. Stellar pitching by Joe Weber had a lot to do with it. The right-hander handcuffed his opponent all game. Weber, now 5-2, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 7, walking 3, and allowing no runs. Ladue has run its win streak to 4 in a row.
Simon Earle was 1-4 with a walk, while adding 2 RBI for Ladue. The 18-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the sixth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring walk off Jake Best. It was his 22nd walk of the season.
"Just glad I could help us get a win," said Earle.
