Mockingbirds Rebuff Cattlemen, 4-2
The MSL Memphis Mockingbirds put one in the win column with an opening day 4-2 triumph over the MSL Ft. Worth Cattlemen. The crowd at MSL Memphis Ballpark watched Barend Veeneman put on a fine performance.

The Mockingbirds got a big at-bat from left fielder Arturo Ibáñez. For the game, Ibáñez was 1-4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 1st double of the season gave MSL Memphis a 2-1 lead.

Ibáñez told a MSL Memphis News reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
