Lighthouse Handle White Walkers, Nab 5-3 Win
|
Will Edmonds was a vital contributor to the 5-3 MSL Long Island victory over MSL Buffalo. The Lighthouse left fielder went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Michael Evans got the win, improving to 1-0. He held the White Walkers to 3 runs on 6 hits over 6.2 innings, while striking out 6 and walking 2. Picking up his 1st save was 16-year old right-handed pitcher Carlos Ruíz.
Masujiro Ishii cracked a home run off Diego Trevino in the bottom of the first. His 3-run blast put the Lighthouse on top, 3-0. In all, Ishii had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"You need to show up when your number's called," said Edmonds.
The Lighthouse, now 2-0, have stormed out of the gates.
