The MSL St. Louis Coeur earned a close win over the MSL Memphis Mockingbirds, thanks in part to Jesús Franco. The MSL St. Louis right-hander played a key role in the 3-2 victory. The winning pitcher was Franco, now 1-1. He tossed 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 4. MSL Memphis falls to 3-6.

MSL St. Louis got a lift in the bottom of the fourth from second baseman Enrique Ramírez, who hit a sinker to left-center for a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season put the Coeur up, 3-1.

"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Franco.
