Ponies Reel In 2-1 Win
|
The MSL Kingston Ponies used a great performance from Anastasio Valenzuela, who is tied for 10th in the 3MSL in wins with 2, to beat the MSL Panama City Piranhas, 2-1, at MSL Kingston Township Ballpark. The winner was Valenzuela. He threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball. The loser was Sergio Deleón. Bill Roberts earned the save, his 4th, for the Ponies.
In the bottom of the fourth, Piri Jerara delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 2nd and 3rd, the MSL Kingston second baseman hit a run-scoring single, putting the Ponies in front, 2-1.
"My gosh almighty, Anastasio was tremendous," said MSL Kingston manager Dan Taylor.
The Ponies are now 9-9, while the Piranhas fall to 8-10.
