Rock City Pull Out Late Win, 5-4
|
Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the MSL Detroit Rock City and MSL Charleston Battery.
The MSL Detroit Rock City picked up a win at MSL Charleston Ballpark, topping the MSL Charleston Battery, 5-4. On the mound for MSL Detroit was right-hander Chong-yee Meng. He played a principal role in the triumph. Rafael Morán closed the door for MSL Detroit, picking up his 2nd save of the year.
MSL Detroit needed the clutch hitting of Miguel Hernández to notch the win. The center fielder hammered a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Rock City on top, 5-4. For the game, Hernández had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"We squandered some opportunities," said MSL Charleston manager António Díaz.
The Rock City now own a record of 10-11.
