The Kingfishers faced a stiff challenge from MSL Echo Park pitcher Frazer Bice, but persevered to claim a win at MSL Echo Park Ballpark. The final score was 2-0. Bice went 9 innings and allowed 2 runs. The win went to Diego Ruíz in relief, making him now 1-0. Frazer Bice took the loss for MSL Echo Park. Humphrey Weegerink collected his 2nd save.
Had Alfonso Salinas not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Salinas hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 1-0, in favor of the Kingfishers.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said MSL Pittsburgh manager Ricky Miller.
MSL Pittsburgh is now 8-4, MSL Echo Park 6-6.
