MSL Thunder Bay Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
|
MSL Thunder Bay beat MSL D.C. at MSL Thunder Bay Ballpark, escaping with a 7-6 win. The win in large part was due to second baseman Hahn Bischoffshausen. He was 3-4 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. MSL Thunder Bay reliever Seung-jin Im picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Tomás González absorbed the loss. MSL Thunder Bay has now reeled off 6 straight wins.
When he batted in the bottom of the ninth, Samuel Zhan had a golden opportunity to change the game's outcome. MSL D.C. pitcher Tomás González was determined not to let him. But with one out, Zhan hit a sacrifice fly -- and the Northern Lions BC had a suspense-filled triumph.
"This was a nice win for us," said Zhan. "It's one more step toward our ultimate goal."
