Starting pitcher Victor Soto fulfilled his part of the bargain, helping the MSL Mexico City Blue Demons stymie the MSL Baltimore Bullets, 4-2. The winning pitcher was Soto, now 2-1. He tossed 7 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 4. Pavla Karzinkin earned the save, his 3rd.
MSL Mexico City used the clutch hitting of Pat Hansen to snag the win. The catcher drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Blue Demons ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.
"I have a really good team behind me," Soto said. "I trust them 100 percent."
After today's action, MSL Mexico City sits at 7-7; MSL Baltimore slips to 7-7.
