Rock City Rally For Late Win Over Blue Demons
|
The MSL Detroit Rock City beat the MSL Mexico City Blue Demons, 3-2, at MSL Detroit Ballpark. MSL Detroit designated hitter Cristóbal Herrera led the way. He was 3-3 with 3 singles and a walk. MSL Detroit reliever Jacob Underhill was credited with the win. His record goes to 4-1. Ki-tak Chong took the loss for MSL Mexico City. The Rock City bumped their record to 15-12 with this win.
Miguel Hernández drove in one run for MSL Detroit. The 18-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Nori Jouon. It was his 9th RBI of the season.
Afterward, Rock City manager Valentín Robles was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
