Dirty Reds Lose at Home, 7-5
|
The MSL Dayton Dirty Reds got a superb performance from second baseman Jerry Piper, but the MSL Kingston Ponies still won the game, 7-5. Piper went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. MSL Kingston reliever Corey Leather picked up the win, upping his record to 1-3. Randall Middleton absorbed the loss. The 11th-place Ponies own a record of 10-21.
In the top of the fourth inning of a 0-0 tie, MSL Kingston catcher Xian-yao Liu reached on an error by the SS, driving in 1 run. It broke the deadlock and put MSL Kingston on top, 1-0.
"When this team comes together and plays the way we can, we can compete with anyone," said Liu. "I think we're going to keep proving that."
