Though he had a stellar game, Danny Courthope could not prevent his team, the MSL Panama City Piranhas, from losing, 5-4, to the MSL Oakland Oaks. Courthope went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Ferrie Bolt was the winner in relief. His record is now 1-1. The losing pitcher was Darge Masamba. The Oaks go to 13-24 with the win.
Iiro Haavikko was the walk-off hero for MSL Oakland. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Oaks center fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said MSL Panama City manager Anthony Mitchell. "The effort was great."
