The MSL St. Louis Coeur withstood a fine game by MSL Detroit catcher Will Criscuolo at MSL St. Louis Ballpark, to upend the Rock City, 5-2. Criscuolo was 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. The winner was Vaclav Broekhuizen, who threw 87 pitches over 6 innings. The right-hander was charged with 2 runs on 6 hits. MSL St. Louis has now reeled off 6 straight wins.

The Rock City had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Coeur going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 19-year old third baseman Sylvester Latrobe came to the plate. Latrobe hit a 2-run double on a full count fastball from MSL Detroit hurler Javier Fernández. It was Latrobe's 6th double of the year.
