MSL Vancouver starter Yachi Hirano kept the MSL Memphis offense from doing much damage. The right-hander leaned on his slider in leading the Grey Wolves to a 2-1 win. The winner was Hirano. He threw 6.1 innings allowing 1 run. The loser was Guillermo Silva. The victory gives the Grey Wolves a record of 16-11.
The Grey Wolves got a big at-bat from right fielder Christovão Lestof. For the game, Lestof went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the third, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 7th home run of the season gave MSL Vancouver a 2-0 lead.
"Sometimes a win comes easy," Hirano told the MSL Vancouver Daily News. "And sometimes you have to scratch and claw."
