Vancouver needed the clutch hitting of Yoon-tae Ch'ae to seal the deal. The designated hitter swatted a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Grey Wolves on top, 8-6. For the game, Ch'ae had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

Rainbow Mermaids manager David Lister did not take questions after the game, telling assembled reporters that he would hold a press conference "if and when we win the United States Silver League Championship."
