The Toledo Stingers powered past the Seattle Rocketeers, 8-2, at Pacesetter Park. Olvido Doesburg provided some of the pop. Taz was 3 for 4 with a triple and 2 singles. He scored 3 runs. Picking up the win was Puhi Paselio. He went 5.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 8 hits. The left--hander struck out 6 and walked 2. At 12-7, the Stingers have played well so far.

Don Weaver had a big 3-run home run for the Stingers in the bottom of the third inning. With Toledo leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a splitter from 12-year veteran Jason Kofod and punished it. The result was his 6th home run of the season, which put the Stingers on top, 5-0.

Doesburg told a Toledo Chronicle reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
