Detroit Announces Culver Will Retire Saturday, June 16th , 2063 Detroit reliever Craig Culver won't be back next year. The 40-year-old announced plans today to retire at the end of the 2063 campaign, saying that it was time to call it a career. "I could probably play another year," Culver said, "but I don't have that fire you need to play well. And I'm not going out there on those terms. It's a disservice to the Rock City and baseball in general. There are just too many aches and pains in this old body for me to continue playing." Lifetime Culver has made 13 relief appearances and converted 2 saves. His record stands at 8-and-4 with a 2.64 ERA. |
