Bursey Hit Streak Soars to 20 Games Tuesday, June 19th , 2063 The Ottawa Fat Cats may have proven to be mere mortals as they lost, 17-8, to the Arizona Javelina, but Chris Bursey continued to hit like a god. The center fielder collected 1 hit in 4 at-bats in the loss and extended his hitting streak to 20 games. "Bursey is playing great and is on fire right now," Fat Cats manager Jorge Carranza said. "Hopefully his play can spark the rest of our team and help us pick up some wins." Bursey was apparently not happy with the game and when pressed by reporters in the locker room only said "nothing else matters but the loss." Chris Bursey struck out in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, was hit by a pitch in the 7th and grounded out in the 8th. At the moment, Bursey is hitting .291 with 3 home runs and 21 RBIs. He has played in 38 games and scored 25 times. |
