Men Snatch Late-Game, 3-2 Win
|
The Florida Men had to overcome a good performance from Port Royal pitcher Rush Moore to claim a 3-2 win at Ballpark of Port Royal. Moore went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 run. The loss drops Port Royal to 0-5.
The result might have been different, had it not been for 29-year old center fielder Max Pegrum. Pegrum had a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Men ahead, 3-2. For the game, Pegrum had 2 doubles and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Florida manager Caetano Alfena. "It's usually not just one thing."
