Thunderbirds Earn 5-4 Win Versus ParksNRec
|
The Hamilton Thunderbirds beat the Pawnee ParksNRec, 5-4, at Whips Ballpark. Hamilton left fielder Brian Olsen had an outstanding performance. He was 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and a walk. He scored 2 times. The win went to Martin Roach in relief. His record improves to 2-0. John Willis took the loss. The second-place Thunderbirds lifted their record to 17-10.
Hamilton used the timely hitting of Luis Mata to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Thunderbirds on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"A great game, a great day," said Mata about the win. "I can't complain."
