Marlins Collect 9-7 Win Over Thunderbirds
Ft. Myers starter Tom Morris pitched well against the Hamilton Thunderbirds at Coyote Wildlife Refuge. The right-hander led his team to a win, 9-7, in 12 innings. Marcus Lucas was the winner in relief. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Sam Malone. Bryan Abdale earned the save, his 1st.

Ft. Myers used the clutch hitting of Andy Fievet to capture the win. The third baseman drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the 12th inning to give the Marlins the lead, 8-7. For the game, Fievet had 1 single and 1 double in 5 at-bats.

"That was your kind of game, if you like high drama," said Marlins manager Ken McDowell.

At 15-14, Ft. Myers is in 4th place in the Menard's AAA.
