The Hudson Bay Redwoods beat the Salt Lake City Buzz, 8-1, at Redwood Field. Hudson Bay center fielder Calvin Ross had an outstanding performance. He went 3 for 4 with a triple, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The Redwoods now have a record of 18-13.

Pancho Valdéz hit a 2-run double off William Hinkle in the bottom of the first, which put the Redwoods in front, 2-1. In addition to the double, Valdéz had 2 singles, while going 3 for 5.

"We didn't pitch good, and when you don't pitch good, you lose," said Salt Lake City manager Todd Hines.
