Men Victorious at Port Huron, 3-0
|
Florida pitcher John Bell had a large part in his team subduing the Port Huron Blitzkrieg, 3-0. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the left-hander. Mike Allen earned the save for Florida, his 8th of the year. The 'W' lifts Florida's record to 18-16.
Florida used the hitting of Ted Oglethorpe to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Men on top, 2-0. For the game, Oglethorpe had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Oglethorpe said.
