Getting an impressive start from Wop Letroit, Port Huron beat Salt Lake City by the score of 3-2. Mark Peterson finished to wrap up his 7th save. The Blitzkrieg saw their win-loss record go to 14-23. At the same time, the Buzz fell to 18-19.

Shawn Dalton had a critical at-bat with two out in the top of the ninth for Port Huron. He came through with a run-scoring single to put Port Huron in front, 3-1.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Salt Lake City manager Todd Hines. "But we decided not to take it."
